Kathmandu. Nepali Congress (NC) lawmaker Dr Sunil Sharma has questioned the government’s decision that the citizens of districts other than five districts are not Nepalis. Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, he posed questions to the Prime Minister and ministers.
He questioned that only five districts are Nepali citizens. “People from 72 districts, except five districts of Karnali, Mugu and Tarai-hills, are not Nepali citizens? he asked. Don’t you think he would have been able to give borewells to the citizens for drinking water and irrigation? he asked. He claimed that the Prime Minister and ministers do not have the slightest mercy.
Do you have a heart to be accountable to citizens? He questioned whether he was a minister of the country or a small group. He questioned whether only the people of five districts would be able to vote in the trees and the sun and said that they could run the House in this way next time.
“Are there nepali citizens in only five districts? People from 72 districts except five districts of Karnali, Mugu, Mustang, Madhes, Terai and hills are not Nepali citizens? Don’t you have a little pity? Don’t you think the people there would have been able to drink water, build a broken well for the farmers, and give a borewell for irrigation? I want to tell you, do you have a heart to be accountable to the citizens or not? Is your country a minister, a leader or a small group of people in the country? If you have won the election alone, then why the need for an alliance? Now only the people of these 4-5 districts have voted in the trees and the sun? You can run the House next time and this is my serious question here. ‘
He said the budget for the upcoming fiscal year should be amended immediately and made equitable.
