Gulmi. The Kaligandaki Corridor road in Gulmi, which has been blocked since Last Friday, is yet to be opened. Locals have been facing more problems due to the road blockade for a long time.
The road has been completely blocked for the past three days due to dry landslide at Gargare under Harmichaur-Arbeni road of Kaligandaki rural municipality-1 since Friday afternoon. Vehicles going to Purtighat and from Purtighat to Butwal have been stranded in the middle of the road due to the road blockade. Chairman of Kaligandaki Rural Municipality Bed Bahadur Thapa said that although three dozers have been kept ready in the landslide-affected areas for the operation of the road, there is a problem in operating the road due to landslides.
Information Officer at the District Police Office, Ganga Bahadur Saru, said, “Dry landslides are continuously falling from above the road, we have deployed police teams in the landslide-affected areas keeping in mind the safety of the passengers.
He said the road could not be operated up to Keluki today as the landslide has not stopped. Rural municipality chair Thapa said the people of the area were facing problems due to the closure of the main road for a long time. “People keep asking when the road will be opened, the road has been completely closed for three days.
