The Kulpani Community Forest Group has become a destination for domestic tourism after constructing a green park and wooden view tower along with water to promote tourism while protecting the wetlands.
According to Nawaraj Sharma, chairman of the forest group, the number of people visiting the park and eating forest feast has increased after the forest group constructed the park along with artificial water and made statues of different species of birds including tigers, rhinos, jarayo, horse, peacock. Along with the park, the construction of wooden bridge and view tower in the pond has further increased the attraction to attract tourists to Kulpani.
Those visiting the park are charged 20 to 30 rupees. The forest group has moved ahead with a plan to increase the park spread over 12 hectares to 20 hectares after earning good income through tourism promotion.
According to Sharma, more than 51,000 people have visited the temple so far. Work is underway to set up a wooden museum by collecting wood materials that are environmentally suitable and used by humans in daily living and are now on the verge of extinction.
The forest group has collected various materials to set up a wooden museum, but it has not been able to operate due to lack of space, saying that there is a problem in not getting a suitable place to store traditional materials such as ladiyas, boats, coals, dhiki, ploughs, yokes, etc. made of wood and used by the people in the Dekhuri area.
Chairman Sharma shared that a green park has been constructed to develop Kulpani as a religious and wetland area as a tourist destination. He said that although it was necessary to invest in the development of infrastructure in Kulpani for the development of domestic tourism along with the conservation of natural resources and resources, the support has not been received accordingly.
Sita Giri, a local, said that during the summer, many people come to see various idols in the park, photos and videos.
She said that many people come on Saturdays and public holidays after the forest group constructed the park as well as the construction of various wildlife idols and ponds and operated boats. Due to lack of investment, the work of fencing the children’s park and the barn for wild animals could not be done, she said.
