Agency. A total of 269 Afghan nationals lodged in Pakistani jails were released on Thursday and sent back to their homeland Afghanistan, local media outlet Tolonews reported on Friday.
Former prisoners, including women and children, who spent three months in various pakistani jails, have been handed over to Afghan authorities at the Torkham border point.
Pakistan has freed hundreds of Afghan prisoners in the last six months. Islamabad has also directed Afghan refugees who do not have legal travel documents to leave the neighbouring country.
