Kathmandu. This year’s monsoon system has spread across the country from today. Issuing a special weather bulletin today, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said that the monsoon has spread across the country after 23 days.
This year’s monsoon had entered most parts of Koshi province from the eastern part of the country on May 15 and extended to some parts of Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and parts of the eastern region of Lumbini province on June 15.
Meteorologist Pratima Manandhar said the monsoon would remain active throughout the country with the onset of monsoon in Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces from today. “At present, parts of Koshi, Madhes, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and eastern parts of Lumbini province are under the influence of monsoon winds. There is also a partial influence of westerly and local winds in the western part of the country,” he said. ’
