Parsa. Birgunj: The Inland Revenue Office, Birgunj, has collected more revenue than the target in the 11 months of the current fiscal year 2081/82 BS. The Inland Revenue Department has set a target of collecting Rs 7.51 billion revenue till mid-May of the current fiscal year.
Office’s Chief Tax Officer Tikaraj Chaulagain said that 113.36 percent of the target revenue has been collected in the 11 months of the current fiscal year. The office has collected 142.28 percent of the target i.e. Rs 4.05 billion revenue revenue under this head against the target of Rs 2.84 billion in excise duty in the 11 months of the current fiscal year.
Similarly, the office has collected Rs 2.55 billion in income tax in the 11 months of the current fiscal year against a target of Rs 2.32 billion. This is 109.94 percent of the target. The office has collected Rs 251.08 million in house tax during the period.
Similarly, the government has collected Rs 1.83 billion in value-added tax (VAT) against the target of Rs 2.22 billion. The department has set a target of collecting Rs 8.71 billion revenue in a year.
