Lawmakers demand ‘ruling’ as government does not have representation

Kathmandu. Lawmakers have demanded the government to rule as officials including ministers of the ministry were not present in the discussion on the related topics of the Appropriation Bill- 2082 BS. Presenting a proposal to cut expenditure related to the Ministries of Forest and Environment, Agriculture and Livestock Development and Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs in today’s meeting of the House of Representatives, lawmaker Prabhu Sah demanded the Speaker to rule as the government does not have representation in the discussion on the budget allocated at the ministry level.

He demanded that the call details of the ministers and judges be made public. Nc whip Sushila Thing had objected to Singh’s demand and demanded that the statement be removed from the records of the parliament.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire had instructed the secretariat staff in this regard. Lawmaker Durga Rai objected to the lack of progress of the civil service bill passed by the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee. Lawmaker Prem Suwal demanded the appointment of judges by electing them from the respective areas as the court was under the influence of the government. He had also demanded that the milk collection center in Sallaghari should be reopened and space should be set up at every local level to store agricultural produce. Lawmaker Suwal said that the herbs of Karnali should be protected by stopping chure exploitation.
