Kailali. The Kailali Customs Office has collected Rs 7.81 billion in revenue in the last 11 months. Khim Prasad Aryal, information officer at the office, said the amount was collected from Mid-July to Mid-May of the current fiscal year.
The office has collected Rs 2.89 billion in customs duty, Rs 2.91 billion in value added tax, Rs 195.1 million in excise duty and Rs 1.80 billion in others. In the current fiscal year, the customs office has set an annual revenue collection target of Rs 11.16 billion, of which the revenue collected in 11 months is 69.99 percent of the annual target. In the current fiscal year, rs 575 million was collected in July, Rs 538.4 million in August, Rs 672.4 million in September, Rs 627.8 million in October, Rs 811.3 million in November and Rs 658.7 million in December.
Similarly, rs 730 million was collected in February, Rs 727.6 million in February, Rs 788 million in April, Rs 818 million in April and Rs 871.3 million in May. Information Officer Aryal said that the revenue collection target could not be reached due to the decrease in the import of petroleum products and various other reasons. In the last fiscal year, only Rs 7.91 billion was collected against the target of Rs 11.58 billion annually.
