Myagdi. Kathmandu: Nepali Congress spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat has said the government should not delay in moving ahead with the constitution amendment process. Speaking at a meeting and interaction programme organised by The Nepali Congress Myagdi in Beni, Spokesperson Mahat stressed the need for immediate initiation of the constitution amendment process as per the agreement. According to him, the constitution amendment work should be carried out as per the seven-point agreement reached between the two parties when the government was formed under the leadership of CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli with the support of the Nepali Congress a year ago.

The message has gone out to the people that the NC and THE UML have come together for power due to lack of work as per the agreement,” he said, adding that the government should not delay the constitution amendment process to justify the formation of the nc and UML government. Spokesperson Dr Mahat said that although efforts have been made to make some improvements in the budget for the upcoming fiscal year brought by the government, it has not yet come out concretely and clearly.

Though the party’s policies and principles are excellent, the organisation has become weak from the centre to the tole due to its individualistic character, he said. Nc leader Dr Mahat said the nc general convention would not be possible in december as the work including active membership is yet to be completed. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak does not need to resign over the visit visa issue if employees are sued, he said. rss
