Rain blocks roads at six places on various highways

Kathmandu. Roads have been blocked at six places along various highways today due to floods and landslides triggered by rains. Deputy Inspector General of Nepal Police Binod Ghimire said that traffic movement has been affected due to this.

According to the Police Headquarters, the Kanti Lokthap road has been obstructed since this morning due to landslide at Chhapeli of Bagmati rural municipality-3 in Lalitpur. Similarly, landslides at three places in Bhotekoshi rural municipality of Sindhupalchowk blocked the Araniko highway. Landslides occurred at Kodari of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2, Larcha of Ward No. 3 and Koplang of Ward No. 2.

Similarly, the East-West Highway has been obstructed due to the diversion of Binayi Rivulet at Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality-1 in Bardaghat Susta East of Nawalparasi. Similarly, the Kaligandaki corridor has been completely blocked due to landslide at Barlaba of Kaligandaki rural municipality-6 in Gulmi, jumla-Mugu road and Ravi-Rake-Bhedatar road of Sangurigadhi rural municipality-5 of Dhankuta have been opened one-way. Efforts are underway to open the blocked roads, according to the Police Headquarters.
