Ratnechaur-Bhakunde road blacktopped after 27 years of opening of track

Myagdi. Myagdi: The Ratnechaur-Bhakunde road in Myagdi, which was opened 27 years ago, has been blacktopped. The 10-kilometer road connecting Ratnechaur of Beni municipality-1 to Tamane via Bhakunde of ward no. 2 has been blacktopped after the expansion of the 10-kilometer road, the construction of drain, support wall, rotation and grade correction.

According to Office Chief Hari Subedi, four kilometers of blacktopping is being carried out in the first phase on the Upallachaur-Arjam-Faparkhet section of the Ratnechaur-Bhakunde road being operated under the ‘One Constituency, One Road’ project by the Road Division Office, Baglung.

One kilometer 200 meters has been sloped. Subedi said that dbsd technology will be blacktopped at the rate of seven meters wide on the road widened by nine meters. The track was opened in 2056 BS and is used by the residents of Beni Municipality-1, 2, 4 and Malika of Baglung Municipality. The construction company had signed a contract worth Rs 233.2 million on August 27, 2018 for the construction of the project.

According to the Roads Division, the financial progress of the project is 59 percent, while the physical progress is 75 percent at present. Tek Bahadur Thapa, ward chair of Beni municipality-1, said that the one-hour journey has been cut short in 20 minutes. A budget of Rs 40 million allocated in the current fiscal year has already been spent and Rs 30 million has been allocated for the project next year.

The federal government had allocated Rs 400 million each in the fiscal year 2077/78 BS to run one strategic road project in each constituency on the recommendation of directly elected lawmakers.
