Birgunj Customs collects Rs 158 billion revenue in 11 months

Parsa. Birgunj Customs Office has collected Rs 158.60 billion in revenue in the 11 months of the current fiscal year. The office collected 79.0 percent of the total annual target during the period.

Deepak Lamichhane, chief customs administrator at the Office, said the revenue collection in the month of May was encouraging as the budget for the upcoming fiscal year had generated enthusiasm. “If we look at the data of the last 11 months, the highest revenue has been collected in the month of May,” he said, adding that import of petroleum products and vehicles is the biggest part of the revenue collection. ’

The office had collected Rs 12.15 billion in July, Rs 13.42 billion in August, Rs 13.47 billion in September, Rs 11.10 billion in October and Rs 14.4 billion in November. Similarly, revenue of Rs 15.47 billion was collected in January and Rs 14.44 billion in January.

Similarly, the government collected Rs 14.63 billion revenue in February and Rs 15.47 billion in March. It collected Rs 15.72 billion revenue in april. It has collected Rs 18.18 billion in revenue in the month of May. Of the eleven months of the current fiscal year, the highest revenue was collected in May. The Customs Department has set a target of collecting Rs 218.95 billion annually for the office.
