Kathmandu. In the 11 months of the current fiscal year, revenue of Rs 1,044.76 billion has been collected. The government has received the same amount in taxes, non-taxes, subsidies and other heads.
During this period, revenue of Rs 1,016.85 billion has been collected under tax and non-tax heads. A total of Rs 17.09 billion has been collected from grants and Rs 11.58 billion from other heads.
The government has paid Rs 1,283.16 billion in 11 months. Of this, Rs 851.79 billion has been paid in the current head. Rs 143.39 billion has been paid towards capital expenditure and Rs 287.97 billion towards financial system.
The government has set a revenue target of Rs 1,419.30 billion in the current fiscal year. To meet this revenue target, the government will now have to recover Rs 374.54 billion in 30 days.
In order to meet the target, the government has to collect Revenue of Rs 11.70 billion per day. It’s almost impossible. Because the government is currently collecting revenue of Rs 3.13 billion on an average daily.
Similarly, the government is lagging far behind in terms of expenditure targets. The government has set a target of spending Rs 1,860.30 billion this year. To meet the expenditure target in a month, rs 577.14 billion has to be spent. For this, 18 billion 357 lakhs will have to be spent daily in the next 32 days. It’s almost impossible. Because the government’s daily average expenditure is only Rs 3.85 billion.
