Banke. Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-9 has constructed an embankment to protect the settlements from the flood of Jhijhari Rivulet. Ashish BK, chief of the Water Resources and Irrigation Development Division Office, informed that the embankment has been constructed near the Jhijhari Khola suspension bridge in the budget of the Lumbini province government.
The water resources and irrigation development division office constructed the embankment near the Jhijhari khola suspension bridge with a budget of Rs 3.56 million from the state government. Hem Chapagain, a resident of Lower Mahadeva of Rapti Sonari Rural Municipality-9, said that after the construction of the embankment, the settlement will be saved from erosion and inundation of Jhijhari rivulet.
Meanwhile, the residents of Mahadeva village have been facing difficulties due to the absence of a concrete bridge over the Jhijhari rivulet.
