Kathmandu. Minister for Defence Manbir Rai has said that the constitution can be amended according to time and circumstances. Minister Rai said this at a meeting of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee on Monday.
Stating that the government was serious about resolving the problems of non-resident Nepalis and Those recruited in British Gorkhas, he said some complications of the constitution needed to be amended. Stating that the Constitution of Nepal is not immutable, he argued that the constitution is not an inalienable thing.
Minister Rai said, “Let’s continue to solve the problem. Some of the complexities of the constitution may have to be amended. If there is a situation where these things will not be done tomorrow, then our Constitution of Nepal is not said to be irreversible. We didn’t say that. We have not said that the Constitution is incontrovertible. It can be amended according to time and circumstances. Even if we have to lose some boundaries, our country does not have to celebrate Independence Day, let us consider it a pride. We have a story of history and bravery. ’
Stating that Nepal is an independent country even though it has lost some borders, Minister Rai said nepal’s history and bravery should be taken as pride.
