Birgunj Customs Office revenue collection: Dependent on import of petroleum products and vehicles

Birgunj. Birgunj Customs Office has collected the highest revenue of Rs 64.5 billion from the import of petroleum products in the 10 months of the current fiscal year.

The office has spent Rs 155.94 billion to import five types of petroleum products in the last 10 months of the current fiscal year. Petroleum products account for 46.26 per cent of the total revenue from imports.

Deepak Lamichhane, chief customs administrator at Birgunj Customs Office, said that the main source of revenue for the customs here depends on the import of petroleum products and import of vehicles. Similarly, the second highest revenue of Rs 15.24 billion has been received from the import of transport vehicles and their parts.

Similarly, transport vehicles and parts accounted for 10.93 per cent of the revenue generated from imports. Similarly, rs 5.25 billion revenue has been collected from goods made from iron and iron. It has collected Rs 4.55 billion in revenue from the import of machinery and parts.

It has collected Rs 3.37 billion in revenue from the import of electric machinery, equipment and their parts. In the last 10 months of the current fiscal year, the government has collected Rs 2.87 billion in revenue from import of all types of garments. Similarly, the government has collected Rs 2.23 billion in revenue from import of tobacco and tobacco products. The government has collected Rs 2.22 billion in revenue from the import of cosmetics.
