Dodhara Chandni. The construction of two bridges in Kanchanpur has been affected due to lack of budget.
Harish Prasad Joshi, information officer at the Mahendranagar-based Road Division Office, said that the construction of doda river bridge connecting Krishnapur municipality and Laljhadi rural municipality,Bhuli-Persia and Musepani khola bridge at Bedkot municipality-7 have been affected due to lack of budget.
Lumbini Rajendra Kumar Shrestha JV had signed a contract for the construction of the bridge over doda river at a cost of Rs 242.257 million in December 2018. According to the agreement, the construction of the bridge was to be completed by December 2075, but the bridge is going to be constructed nine years after the agreement was signed.
Information Officer Joshi said, “75 percent of the construction work of the bridge has been completed. Similarly, the access road has not been constructed due to lack of budget for the Musepani River Bridge. Information Officer Joshi said that 92 percent of the construction work of the bridge has been completed, but the access road could not be constructed due to lack of budget.
According to him, a contract agreement was signed with Rajendra Lumbini JV on May 15, 2017 for the completion of the project at a cost of Rs 154.3 million. The bridge could not be completed due to lack of budget even though the deadline was extended five times and it was supposed to be completed by December 2081.
Information Officer Joshi said that a budget of Rs 40 million has been demanded to complete the remaining work of the bridge.
