Kathmandu. Discussions were held on the necessary preparations for the sub-regional workshop on trade and transport inter-connectivity challenge and future course of action in East South Asia to be held at Kakarbhitta of Koshi Province for two days from June 16 and 17 and high-level national workshop on ‘Upgrading Nepal from least developed country: Nepal’s easy upgradation strategy challenge and future course of action to be held in Kathmandu on June 19 and 20.
Discussions were held at the Planning Commission on Friday regarding the preparations for the workshop to be co-organized by the National Planning Commission and UN ESCAP.
Vice Chairman of the Commission. Dr. Member Secretary suman Raj Aryal, Secretary at the Ministry of Education Chudamani Poudel, Secretary at the Ministry of Women, Children and Senior Citizens Laxmi Kumari Basnet, joint secretaries of various ministries and representatives of the private sector were present in the preparatory meeting.
During the discussion, discussions were held on the need to make both the workshops effective and provide necessary support from the concerned ministries for this, to be more proactive in line with the goal of upgrading Nepal from the least developed country by 2026, and the National Planning Commission and the concerned ministry should give high priority to this issue.
It is said that discussions were also held in this regard as there is a need to conduct a field visit study to Phulbari Banglaband via Kakarbhitta Panitangki for ease of trade and transit between Nepal and Bhutan and Bangladesh, as well as to mobilize trade international assistance, internal productivity enhancement, environment and disaster management, productivity enhancement, etc. for the promotion to be held in 2026.
