Agency. Lee Jae-myung was sworn in as South Korea’s new president on Wednesday after formally starting his single five-year term. The 21st President of the country took oath of office at the National Assembly building.
In his televised inaugural address, he said he would serve all those who supported him in the presidential election.
Lee of the majority liberal Democratic Party won 49.42 percent of the support. He defeated his conservative People’s Power Party’s Kim Moon-soo by 8.27 percentage points.
