Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Centre) senior vice-chair and National Assembly member Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said that the budget for the upcoming fiscal year should come as a political and economic financial document.
Taking part in the discussion on the budget at the National Assembly meeting on Wednesday, Lawmaker Shrestha said that the need of the day should come in such a way that it should take a leap in prosperity along with social justice.
He alleged that the budget did not focus on addressing the possibility of cutting normal expenditure from the austerity angle and increasing the capacity of capital expenditure implementation.
According to him, the regressive forces have started to become active due to dissatisfaction and resentment due to the failure to work as per the expectations of the citizens. He claimed that good governance, prosperity and social justice cannot be the only weapon to end the threat of regression.
“This government, while presenting the policies and programmes and presenting the policy aspects of this budget and its priorities, indicated what kind of budget would come,” he said. I had a clear opinion on that. Today the budget has come accordingly. That is, today the main task of the nation is to make a leap in prosperity with social justice, the budget could not come to address it. As discussed outside in the budget today, there is talk that one aspect is trying to be realistic, practical, balanced. I would like to draw the attention of the attention that there are two sides of reality, one is the status quoist side of reality and the other is the living side of reality, so this budget has captured the status quoist side of reality. It could not present the budget with optimism, determination to capture the possibilities, and with bold vision, thinking and program. ’
He alleged that the budget has failed to address the national needs, without determination, without clear thinking, without determination and unable to address today’s needs.
