Nepal-Bangladesh trade: Rs 4.75 billion imports, 350 million exports

Jhapa. In the fiscal year 2081/82 BS, goods worth Rs 4.75 billion were imported from Bangladesh through Kakarvitta. Products worth Rs 356.29 million have been exported from Nepal to Bangladesh.

According to Subash Pandey, head of nepal transit and warehouse management company limited branch office at Kakarvitta, the highest amount of unprocessed jute worth Rs 1.78 billion has been imported from Bangladesh.

Other items imported include batteries, poultry feed supplements, cosmetic items, hydrogen paraoxide, jute yarn, electrical appliances, medicines, potatoes, paper, glass, food and beverages, among others.

Khudo worth Rs 302.77 million has been exported to Bangladesh from Kakarvitta. Pandey said that other herbs, animal feed and household items have been exported from here.
