Bhojpur. Kamal Tamang of Bhangeri of Bhojpur municipality-6 is engaged in commercial fish farming. Using the experience and skills he has acquired abroad, he has joined the business with the goal of becoming an example in the village itself.
He said that he is now commercially rearing fish in five ponds in his own place. According to Na, 60 kilograms of grasscarp fish have been released into the pond. Farmer Tamang said that he enjoyed doing business with his family in his own place.
He said that after spending five years in Malaysia in connection with foreign employment, he used his experience and experience in his place and started fish farming. He said that if he could do agriculture by becoming professional in his own place, he could earn better income at home than abroad.
“Many young people seem to be fascinated by foreign countries, but the sorrow of foreign countries is known only after reaching there. Instead of suffering abroad, I have started this business with the idea of doing business in my own place. If you work hard here, you can earn a good income,” he said. Along with fish farming, he said, he is working with a plan to make commercial chickens and pigs here. Tamang said that the target is to earn rs 8-1 million annually from the business. Fish produced from ponds in hilly areas is being sold at Rs 650 to Rs 700 per kg in the market, he said.
According to Shailendra Karki, ward chair of Bhojpur-6, programmes have been launched targeting the youth engaged in business. The number of people engaged in commercial agriculture has been increasing in the villages after the local government launched incentive programs. On the basis of their business plan, programs are being run by the ward and municipality to help the farmers. The ward has been running various support programmes to encourage the farmers. We have been providing necessary support on the basis of their business plans.
Ward chair Karki said that the farmers have been earning handsomely from commercial fish farming, vegetable farming and cash crop farming as the ward is adjacent to bhojpur district headquarters. Ward Chair Karki said that the ward has been working in a planned manner in the field of agriculture to connect the farmers to income generation.
