Kathmandu. The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) has congratulated newly appointed Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Governor Dr Bishwanath Poudel. A team led by Association President Mahesh Kumar Shrestha reached the Nrb office in Baluwatar and congratulated him.
On the occasion, Chairman Shrestha said that new possibilities of economic development could be opened up in Nepal and expressed commitment to take all possible initiatives on behalf of NRNA to attract investment.
“Non-resident Nepalis are willing to use the capital, skills and experience earned abroad for the development of the country,” he said. We are confident that the Rastra Bank will provide necessary facilitation on a policy basis. ‘
President Shrestha said that the NRN’s spread in more than 80 countries of the world are interested in investing in Nepal in industry, tourism, information technology, energy, infrastructure and financial sectors. He said that nrb’s policy clarity is essential to ensure that such investments are safe, transparent and yield-oriented.
Stating that the NRNA has welcomed the positive decisions taken towards the NRN’s in the budget statement made public last week, he urged the NRN’s to create an environment for nrns to invest in Nepal like Nepalis.
NRNA vice-president Manoj Gorkhali, NRNA high-level committee members Binod Kunwar, Rabina Thapa and Janaki Gurung, among others, were present on the occasion. Expressing gratitude for the goodwill and activism of the non-resident Nepalis, Governor Dr Poudel said that rastra bank would always play a positive and cooperative role.
“The contribution of NRN’s to the country’s long-term economic development can be remarkable. Rastra Bank will take necessary initiatives towards creating an investment-friendly environment. Governor Poudel expressed commitment to bring appropriate policy to make investment attractive in Nepal through regular dialogue with NRNA.
He also said that rastra bank is always ready to facilitate non-resident Nepalis if they face any problem in investing and doing business in Nepal.
