Beehives distributed to farmers with 75 percent subsidy

Damauli. Beehives have been distributed to the farmers of Abukhaireni rural municipality of the district along with skills. Along with the training on beekeeping, beehives, bee hives, bee hives, bee hives and bee hives have been distributed to the farmers of Abukhaireni-6, Hilekharka.

Santosh KC, chief of agriculture section of the rural municipality, said that 192 beehives have been distributed to make the rural municipality known as Maha palika and to make the farmers professional by making them self-reliant in honey production.

Stating that Hilekharka is suitable for beekeeping, he said initiatives have been taken to involve the farmers in this business as beekeeping would be easier and the source of income would be ensured.

“As per the annual policy and programme of the municipality for the current fiscal year, we have trained the farmers and distributed beehives,” he said. We have set a target to make the municipality self-sufficient in honey production. Shukra Chuman, chairperson of the rural municipality, said that the beekeeping program has encouraged the farmers and this business can bring about a change in the lifestyle of the farmers and achieve economic prosperity.

The District-based Krishi Gyan Kendra has distributed beehives to the farmers of Abukhaireni-5 with 90 percent subsidy. The Centre has distributed beehives under the Rural Nutrition Protection Programme in coordination with Anbukhaireni Rural Municipality.

Centre chief Gopal Sharma Lamichhane said bee hives and mahdanis have been distributed to the Mai Chimkeshwari farmers’ group of Abukhaireni-5. According to him, 100 beehives have been distributed to the farmers.

He said, “Bee hives have been distributed along with skills with the objective of making the farmers self-reliant. This will help farmers to connect with income generation. He said efforts were being made to involve the farmers in beekeeping business as there was a suitable possibility of beekeeping in this place.

Santosh Gurung, ward chair of Abukhaireni-5, said the beekeeping business was suitable as agriculture was the main source of income for most of the people here. Stating that there is a need to make farmers self-reliant in honey by making them self-employed, he said other agriculture-related programmes would also be brought in coordination with the rural municipality in the coming days.
