Chitwan. Bp Koirala Memorial Cancer Hospital has started a ‘flowcytometry’ test to detect the ‘variant’ of blood cancer. For this, the hospital has also provided necessary training to doctors and technicians by installing equipment.
Chief of the laboratory department of the hospital, Dr Greta Pandey, said that more than 90 people have been tested by starting the ‘flowcytometry’ service. In the past, there was a compulsion to send it to India by paying a high fee for this test. According to the hospital, this test can be done in 12,000 after the start of this service. He had to pay a lot of money depending on the place when he was sent out. There is no data on how many people get blood cancer annually in Nepal.
Blood is a type of high-quality test done by removing the masi from the bone of patients with cancer. Chief Dr Pandey said, “Blood is a test to find out the type of cancer. The test is done by removing the masi from the back. A doctor and a technician have been sent for training at The Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital in India.
Executive Director of the hospital, Dr Shivaji Poudel, said that the service has been increased by installing machine equipment and providing training to the human resources to make cancer treatment more effective. Patients have directly benefited from this test. In the recent past, the Cancer Hospital has been speeding up the work of adding equipment and training human resources to make its service more effective.
