Parsa. Birgunj Dry Port Customs Office in Sirsia has collected Rs 41.18 billion in revenue in the 10 months of the current fiscal year. The office collected 68.58 percent of the annual target during the period.
Dhan Bahadur Baruwal, chief customs officer at the office, said the revenue collected in the same period of the current fiscal year was Rs 1.14 billion more as compared to the previous fiscal year. “The revenue collection in the 10 months of the last fiscal year was Rs 40.03 billion,” he said, adding that the overall revenue collection has increased by 2.85 percent in the same period of the current fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year. ’
The office collected Rs 3.75 billion in July, Rs 4.64 billion in August, Rs 4.36 billion in September, Rs 3.79 billion in October, Rs 3.22 billion in November, Rs 3.56 billion in December, Rs 4.29 billion in January, Rs 4.68 billion in February, Rs 4.5 billion in March and Rs 4.34 billion in April. The Customs Department had set a target of collecting Rs 60.04 billion revenue from the office during the year.
