Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal has said that there would be an economic slowdown if the economic activities were not increased.
Dhakal said this during a discussion with stakeholders on the bill to amend the Bank and Financial Institutions Act, 2073 BS of the Finance Committee under the House of Representatives on Monday.
He said that most of the industries would be closed down if a provision was made that people with more than one percent share or industry would not be able to take loans while taking loans for industry business.
Chairman Dhakal said that while talking about creating jobs, increasing revenue and increasing business activities in the coming days, it should be considered as to what would be the result if it is banned. He made it clear that there would be a big crisis in the economy if we go into the issues written in the draft.
He said, “If we do not want to increase economic activity and if we continue to shrink what has been, then there will be a disaster.” Was this draft really made without studying its impact? If a person with more than one percent share in the bank is not allowed to take a loan in any industry or if he has taken a loan, then more than one percent of the shares will have to be sold, even if that share will not be sold to the family or nearby companies. If this happens, then most of these industries will be closed on the one hand, while the business activity of employment will increase, there will be a break in those things. Therefore, I am of the opinion that these issues should never be kept. Imagine that all the existing industries will hold more than 300 to one percent shares. About 45 percent of the loan is in it. If we have to leave one of the two, we will talk about giving jobs in the coming days. We talk about increasing revenue. We talk about increasing business activity, but if it is blocked, it will yield results. While drafting it, it seemed that it was made without considering the results. I think there will be a big crisis if we go as far as this draft comes. It seems that we should study any law before the enactment of any law and its impact after it comes into force. ”
He stressed the need to study the impact of any law before the enactment of any law and after the enactment of the law.
