Kathmandu. Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka has said that Nepal is supplying electricity as per the requirement.

Minister Khadka said this while talking to media persons after taking information about the problems of power supply, consumers’ complaints and possible technical difficulties seen at various places under the No Light Branch in Kuleshwor on Sunday evening.

He said that electricity supply in Nepal is not due to lack of electricity but due to disaster-related incidents. Stating that the government was working according to the desire of consumers to get safe and reliable electricity, he said that the illusion was spread that there are no lights by propagating artificial things.

Minister Khadka said nepal does not have to import electricity at present. Claiming that power supply is better than in the past, he urged the people not to follow rumours.

Minister Khadka said, “The fact that the lights are going out is not because we have less electricity. What we want is that consumers can get safe and reliable electricity. It’s not like the buzz in the market outside. It is a matter of blocking somewhere due to wind and lightning and due to which the lights will be stopped. Because of this, it was last year as well as last year. Even tomorrow, when the wind comes, such incidents happen when the person is out of control. We are trying to bring it into operation as soon as possible. Artificial things are being propagated. That’s not the case. We haven’t imported it now. Our electricity is increasing. We are able to supply electricity as per the requirement. I urge the consumers and the countrymen to supply electricity better today than yesterday. Don’t go after rumours. ’

Minister Khadka warned that those spreading terror by saying that the lights went off even when there was no electricity would be brought to justice. He said that although electricity was being supplied to the no-light branch, he used to get calls saying that there was no electricity supply and when the cross-check was done, it was found that there were lights. He urged them to note down the number of those who made the telephone to spread terror and cause sorrow and give it to the police.

“Most of them are still receiving fake calls. Telephone calls will be collected 24 hours a day and supply will also be provided to the blocked areas 24 hours a day. They also do tally. Those who say where the lights came from me, they go to this area, they cross-check. He said that when he cross-checked, the lights were not gone. If you are doing a rummer for some reason, I would like to request you not to do it. Note down such telephone numbers and give them to the police. Those who work for terror and terror are also punished. ’

Minister Khadka said that the market price would be determined on the basis of need.
