Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire has said that the party has taken the views expressed by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli at a public event on Saturday. He said this while talking to media persons after a meeting of party office-bearers held at party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Budhanilkantha on Sunday.
Addressing a training programme of ward chairs organised by the CPN (UML) Bagmati Province Committee at Godavari on Saturday, Prime Minister Oli had directed to keep the capital Kathmandu under the control of the UML.
Media persons had asked that the Prime Minister could say so. He said that the Nc has said that the Prime Minister has expressed his opinion, but instead of UML, the word ‘republican people’ would have been used.
Chief Whip Ghimire said that he would have said that no one other than the supporters of the republic should be seen.
Chief Whip Ghimire said, “He is trying to say this in the context of celebrating Republic Day. So many people should gather here to celebrate Republic Day. He said that nothing should be seen here except UML. The UML would not have said so. He would have said that no one should be seen except the Nepali people and the supporters of the republic. He used the word UML while speaking a little. It would have been better if that word had been called the republican Nepali people. The Nc has taken the Prime Minister’s statement lightly. ’
He said that if the minister starts resigning during the investigation of the employees, then not a single minister will be left.
