Kathmandu. Inspector General of Nepal Police Deepak Thapa has handed over the insignia to Sub-Inspector Kunjang Chopel Sherpa, who successfully climbed Mt Everest. At a program organized at the Police Headquarters today, she presented the insignia to Sherpa, who has been promoted to the post of Sub-Inspector from The Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police.
A meeting of the Policy Formulation Committee (PCC) held on May 29 had decided to give special promotion to Sherpa for successfully climbing the world’s highest peak Mt Everest. On the occasion, IGP Thapa lauded the work done by him for the growth of the police organization by successfully climbing the world’s highest peak Mt. Everest with indomitable courage.
Representing the Police Organization, Pranani Sherpa successfully climbed Mt Everest at 8:56 am on Monday. She hoisted nepal’s national flag, nepal police flag and banner with the slogan ‘We are united to end violence against women and girls’.
