Kathmandu. Reliable Nepal Life Insurance Limited has paid Rs 2 million to an insured of Chitwan under the deadly disease facility. Mahesh Baniya, a resident of Bharatpur-3, had purchased life insurance for a period of 15 years from the company’s Hakimchowk branch in 2077 BS.
Bania had paid only three installments of insurance fee when he underwent a general health check-up at The Old Medical College, Bharatpur on April 2, 2080. He was admitted to Kathmandu-based Medicity Hospital for further treatment and underwent a liver transplant on 15 Th Paush 2081 BS.
Reliable Nepal Life handed over a cheque of Rs 2 million after Baniya informed the insurance company on time and submitted all the documents, even though it costs around Rs 4 million for the liver transplant, which is considered to be very expensive in Nepal.
Branch Chief Raj Kumar Dahal handed over the cheque to the insured at a program organized at Hakimchowk branch on May 17, 2018. Speaking on the occasion, Baniya thanked insurance agent Saraswati Gautam for the reliability and timely service of life insurance.
The speakers stressed on the importance of insurance, uncertain future risks, savings, bonus facilities and the need to develop an insurance culture in Nepal. Senior Agency Manager of Hakimchowk Branch Manoj Chaulagain, Bishnu Kumari Kunwar, Samita Darai, Tara Kumal, Janaki Shah Shrestha and other agency representatives were also present on the occasion.
