Gandaki. Chairman of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Centre) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said that he would draw the attention of the concerned bodies to allocate budget for upgrading the Shaheed Marg of Tarakhola Municipality of Baglung.
He also said that his party has accorded top priority to infrastructure development. Speaking at a programme organised by Tarakhola Rural Municipality here today, he said they would seek money from the government for the expansion and blacktopping of the road connecting Tarakhola with the national highway.
“Initiatives have been taken earlier to include The Shaheed Marg in the budget, but it did not bear fruit,” he said, adding, “This time we will make special efforts.” ‘
Tarakhola rural municipality has done exemplary work in development and service delivery despite geographical difficulties and limited resources, he said. The 20-km-long road was selected as a blacktopped road four years ago in line with the government’s goal of connecting the local levels with the state capital through pucca roads.
He said the party’s mid-hill Pushpalal Highway-centric public awareness campaign has strengthened the maoist centre’s relations with the people.
