Patan. Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development Ramnath Adhikari has said that organic farming and indigenous crops need to be used after timely analysis.
Speaking at a programme organised by the Agriculture Campaign for Food from April 2082 to May 20, 2018, he said the Ministry was ready to work as per the suggestions received to support all those involved in agricultural activities and promote organic farming system for food.
“There is a need to reduce the use of many pesticides, we have to worry about future generations, along with chemical fertilizers, we should also emphasize on organic fertilizers,” he said. ‘
He opined that organic farming should work together to make all Nepalis self-reliant. “The government is criticised for not providing enough chemical fertilisers, and then there is talk of organic fertilizers for organic farming.
He said that the government has been providing 15 to 85 percent subsidy depending on the production and its achievements to make the entire Nepali self-reliant.
