Myagdi. Construction of a park has begun at Kopre Waterfall at Beni Municipality-2, Bagarphant for the convenience of tourists. The under-construction park has been named ‘Lovely Park’. The park has been constructed for the convenience of tourists as the inflow of tourists has increased at The Kopre Waterfall near the district headquarters Beni Bazaar.
Narayan Karki, chairman of the Jharna Lovely Park Construction Committee, said that the construction of the land has been completed in the first phase with an investment of Rs 150,000 from Beni Municipality. “An attractive park with a garden is being built to attract domestic tourists to the Kopre Waterfall, which has been developed as a new tourist destination near the district headquarters. There is a plan to build a comfortable chair for small children, young people and elderly people,” karki said.
Karki said, “In the current fiscal year, the municipality has allocated the budget only for the construction of the land, so we have started the work within the scope of that budget and we will complete the construction of the park in the next fiscal year.” Karki has also constructed sattals and chautaris with his own private investment as there is a shortage of resting places for tourists due to the increase in tourist arrivals.
Kopre Waterfall, which was discovered during the Corona period, has been gaining traction in the following years. Puran Ghimire, a local, said that around 50 to 200 tourists visit the place every day. According to him, employees, traders and others also go there to enjoy on Saturdays and other holidays.
Sajjan GC, a young man from Beni Municipality-2, Bagarphant, said that the park is located near the Beni-Bagarphant-Bhakimli road of Dudhekhola village, which flows in the middle of the dense forest in Sheeran, the Myagdi river flowing at the bottom, and the park will not only be a place of entertainment for young people and children but also for anyone.
In particular, photos and videos are reaching people from nearby areas of Bhakimli, Jamrukkot, Dudhekhola, Bagarphant and Benibazar. This place has also become a new destination for ‘morning walks’ for the residents of Beni Bazaar in recent times. Ramesh Phagami of Mangalaghat said he was happy to reach kopre waterfall.
This waterfall, which looks a little small in winter, is very attractive in the rain. Kopre Falls is also called the ‘Annual Waterfall’ by some tourists visiting there. Seeing the waterfall falling from the cliff, the mind is filled with excitement. When the sun sets, it feels like looking at a rainbow waterfall. Tourists have the experience of enjoying being soaked in the cold water of the waterfall, which falls from the top of the hill to the ground. This waterfall is english letter V shaped.
Myagdi river in the north, green fields in the east and west and dense forests in the south from the district headquarters Benibazar is also full of natural beauty. Ward chair of Beni municipality-2, Yam Bahadur Karki, said that there is a lot of potential to develop it as an internal tourist destination.
There are also religious and tourist places including water-blowing chhahra, 126-year-old historical wandering square, attractive goddess temple built on a huge rock of three ropanis area in Bagarphant, Shivalaya, cave and other religious and tourist places. Ward Chair Karki believes that the nature lovers who reach there will return to the park.
