Insurance Authority distributes prizes to winners of state-level essay competition

Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) has presented cash prizes and certificates to the winners of the state-level essay competition organized with the objective of promoting insurance education and literacy.

On the occasion of the 57th anniversary of the NRA, seven winners of the state-level essay competition have been awarded certificates and cash prizes of Rs 20,000 each.

Chairman of Nepal Insurance Authority Sharad Ojha handed over cash prizes and certificates to the winners of Bagmati Province at a function held at central office, Kupandol, Lalitpur on Sunday.

Dhanraj Shah, a student of Mahendra Morang Adarsha Multiple Campus in Biratnagar from Koshi State, Kabita Kumari Yadav from Birgunj-based National Academy Campus from Madhes State and Dil Bahadur Bhandari from Khwap College of Law, Bhaktapur from Bagmati State have won the state-level essay competition.

Similarly, Kusum Chhetri, a student of Pokhara University, School of Business from Gandaki State, Nira Adhikari, a student of Butwal Kalika Campus, Rupandehi from Lumbini State, Tara Kumari Malla, a student of Mid-Western University, Faculty of Education, Surkhet from Karnali State and Divya Panta, a student of Kailali Bahmakhi Campus, Dhangadhi from Sudurpaschim State won the essay competition.

A total of 89 essays were received from undergraduate students in different campuses of the country in the state-level essay competition titled ‘Importance of Insurance in Poverty Reduction and Economic Development of the Country’.

It is believed that such competitions will help make students aware of insurance, which is an important tool of risk management, and promote insurance education and literacy.
