Kathmandu. Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal has stressed the need to increase the consumption of cement in the country. He said this while addressing a program organized by the Cement Manufacturers Association in Lalitpur on Monday.
Stating that Nepal has become fully self-reliant in cement, he stressed the need to increase domestic consumption. Stating that more production should be done by keeping a small margin of cost, he said that nepal is moving ahead to make Nepal an exemplary country in terms of connectivity.
He stressed the need for Nepal to move forward by learning from the development of China and India. Stating that Nepal is not less in terms of development, he claimed that a lot of work has been done in the last 15 years. He said the government was also working with special attention in the formulation of road-related policies. He said that it would be easier to work if the problem is identified and moved forward.
Minister Dahal said, “I had asked the chairman if Nepal has become fully self-reliant in cement. Not only is it completely self-sufficient, but it has also reached the stage of sending cement out and selling it outside, he said. If we have become self-reliant in cement, then how can we apply it in our country now? You have to think about it. Just as we are producing electricity and talking about consuming it in the country. Similarly, we are producing cement and have become self-reliant. If we are in a position to export, then why not consume here, let us produce more by keeping a small margin. Let’s build strong roads in a big way. It can be done that way. ’
Minister Dahal stressed the need to move towards concrete technology.
