Kathmandu. Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said that no religion should be used for its political purpose. Home Minister Lekhak said this while replying to the queries of lawmakers in the House of Representatives.
He said that no religion should be used for intolerant, anarchic and criminal activities and criminal activities should not be carried out under the garb of religion to carry out criminal acts and political objectives.
Stating that no religion is the best and no religion is the worst, he said that arson and violence in the Tinkune incident is a crime and the act cannot be linked to any religion or faith. Stating that Hinduism believes in non-violence, peace and fraternity, he said that that philosophy and ideals are not seen in the three corners.
Home Minister Lekhak said, “No religion should be used to fulfill its political objectives. No religion should be used for intolerant, anarchic and criminal activities. Criminal acts and political motives should not be fulfilled under religious cover. No violence can be absolved under the garb of religion. It is not that any religion is excellent and no religion is wrong. Since arson and violence in the Tinkune incident is a crime, the act cannot be linked to any religion or belief.
