House of Representatives meeting: Demand for rescue of Tilgaun residents

Kathmandu. Member of the House of Representatives Tsering Damdul Lama has demanded immediate rescue of the residents of Tilgaun of Namkha rural municipality-6 in Humla.

Speaking at an emergency meeting of the House of Representatives today, CpN (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Lama drew the attention of the government towards the rescue of locals who are at risk due to landslide triggered by the glacial lake burst. He informed the House that 32 members of 18 families are currently living on tarpaulin sheets in a nearby field.

“The landslide victims are in a very difficult and scary situation,” lama said, adding, “I would like to draw attention of the government to inspect, protect and provide necessary relief to the place by rescuing them immediately.” ’

Eighteen families are at risk due to landslides that occurred in Tilgaon on May 15 and 28. It is said that 18 families are at risk due to the landslide that occurred at midnight on May 15. Lawmaker Lama drew the attention of the government to pay attention to the settlements near the mountains as they are vulnerable to natural disasters.
