Kathmandu. Chief Whip of Rastriya Prajatantra Party Gyan Bahadur Shahi has objected to the death of workers working on electric poles in Dhulikhel due to negligence of Nepal Electricity Authority( NEA).

Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, Lawmaker Shahi objected to the death of the workers due to electrocution, saying it was not an accident but a murder.

Upesh Pariyar, 28, of Gharibatha of Ishwarpur Municipality-12 of Sarlahi died while working on an electric pole in front of the District Administration Office of Dhulikhel Municipality-7, which was expanded by kavrepalanchowk distribution center through Nepal Electricity Authority. Lawmaker Shahi also drew the attention of the government to file a case of attempt to murder.

He also protested against the government saying that the government was making arrests on the basis of different views.

“The manner in which the incident took place is not an accident but it should be registered as murder,” he said. And there should be a case of attempt to murder. Because it cannot be a kingdom that kills people like this. At the same time, I want to tell the government to read Article 270 of the Constitution of Nepal again and again. That article is not written in anyone’s eyes. This article has been written with a majority of 40 lawmakers of RPP. What does that article say that people will be jailed as soon as they have different views? Are nepal’s prime minister, home minister and government bigger than the constitution of Nepal?”

He also accused the government of trying to be bigger than the constitution, saying the government was struggling despite having the constitutional right to have a different opinion.
