Historical place ‘Golme Raja, Golme Queen’ waiting for tourists

Bhojpur. ‘Golme Raja, Golme Rani’, a religious and tourist destination located in Ram Prasad Rai Rural Municipality, has been overlooked. Due to lack of publicity, this historical religious area has been overshadowed.

Pandav Rai, a local, said that this historical area, which is associated with the legend of Golme King and Golme Rani, has not been discussed. According to him, the name of this place was ‘Golme Raja, Golme Rani Bhir’ due to the fact that during the marriage of Golme King and Golme Rani in ancient times, the name of this place was ‘Golme Raja, Golme Rani Bhir’.

He said that even now, the shape of the chariot, the shape of the king queen, the musical instruments used in the wedding, the dhola jhyamta, the shape of the horse carrying the king queen can be clearly seen here.

“Golme Raja, Golme Rani is a historical religious area,” he said, adding, “Many people must have heard the name of this place.” But the religious significance of this place as well as the historical legend have not been publicized by us. ’

Rajendra Rai, a local resident, said that there is a legend that the people, including Rajarani, disappeared when kaliyug started when golme raja and golme rani from Chaudandigadhi of Udayapur reached this place while taking the marriage procession to Rajarani of Dhankuta. He said that the stone figures here will help to confirm what is said in the legend.

He said that here one can see the sin, the religion, the shape of the gun, the depth of the gun, the pitule, the gunte stone, the shape of maligai, etc. Ward chair of Ram Prasad Rai-6, Ekraj Acharya, said that there are two big stones in the shape of Golme Raja and Golme Rani. According to him, this historical religious area has been overshadowed due to lack of publicity. Acharya said that the local government has laid emphasis on publicity along with the development of this area.

“Golme Raja and Golme Rani areas have been neglected,” said Ward Chair Acharya. Along with the conservation of this area, the local government is searching for its historical facts and religious significance. ’

Chairman Acharya said that there is another religious source of Ganga river in the lap of Golme Raja and Golme Rani. Chairman Acharya said that the water will never dry up in the three big sources of water growing from the stone cup. According to him, devotees come to this place with religious belief that their wishes will be fulfilled.

According to him, this unique religious and tourist place, which should be known to the country, has also been obscured due to its geographical remoteness. Ward Chair Acharya said that all the sources in the lap of The Golme Rajarani Cliff never dry up, are not blurry during the rainy season and the sources flow from south to north.

He said that the source of water flows from south to north, which will surprise everyone. He said that there is a plan to construct a trekking route to Golme targeting the tourists coming here. Ward Chair Acharya shared that initiatives are being taken with the government’s higher bodies for the integrated development of all the tourist areas within the ward.
