China has unveiled an action plan for 2025 to advance the development of ‘Digital China’. The plan includes key initiatives such as ‘AI Plus’ (inclusion of artificial intelligence), infrastructure improvement, data industry promotion and digital skilled manpower development, the National Data Administration said on Friday.
According to the plan, market-friendly management of data sources will be promoted, integrated national data market will be developed, a place-friendly digital economy will be promoted and the overall level of digital China will be significantly improved.
By the end of 2025, China aims to make significant progress in building a Digital China. With the expansion of new technology-enabled production capacity, there is a plan to significantly increase the quality and efficiency of the digital sector.
The plan aims to increase the value of major industries based on data to more than 10 percent of the country’s GDP. It also aims to make progress in building an integrated data market and increase the computational capacity above 300 EFLOPS.
The action plan covers eight key areas, including managerial innovation, promotion of local identifiable technologies and artificial intelligence-based experiments. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China’s digital industry earned about 850 billion yuan in the first quarter of the current year, an increase of 9.4 percent compared to the previous year.
This year’s government report has said that it will accelerate the digital transformation of the production system, develop service providers with skills and technology in the industry and increase support for technology-friendly development of small and medium enterprises.
