Kalikot. A woman has been rescued by a Nepal Army helicopter after she failed to give birth. Santakala Rokaya, 22, of Tilagufa municipality-10 in Kalikot was rescued by helicopter and taken to Karnali State Hospital, Surkhet.
Deputy Mayor of Tilagufa, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, said that he was taken to the Province Hospital in Surkhet by helicopter on Thursday as his condition was becoming complicated due to lack of treatment at the local health facility.
According to Senior Aheb Dhanrup Shahi of Health Post Chilkhaya, rokaya was referred to the hospital as she had symptoms of danger before the start of the delivery.
Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said rokaya was sent to Karnali State Hospital by helicopter on the basis of a letter from the Office of tilagufa municipality executive stating that she needed further treatment at the well-equipped hospital.
