Bee hives distributed to 100 farmers in Bandipur

Tanahun. The Agriculture Branch of Bandipur Rural Municipality of the district has distributed beehives to 100 farmers with 50 percent subsidy. Serena beehives have been provided with 50 per cent investment from the rural municipality and 50 per cent from the farmers.

Surendra Bahadur Thapa, chairperson of the rural municipality, informed that the beehive has been provided with a three-day training on beekeeping with the aim of making the rural municipality self-reliant in honey production.

“The municipality has been giving priority to skill-based and income-generating sectors to attract farmers towards income by making them self-reliant in the field of agriculture,” he said. Stating that the price of beehives is Rs 9,000, he said that under the annual agriculture program, farmers willing to rear bees have been trained and distributed with beehives.

Last year, the municipality had allocated Rs 300,000 for the cultivation of mustard and mustard. Chairman Thapa said that the beekeeping farmers along with the cultivation of mustard and lentils have been encouraged. According to the rural municipality office, the rural municipality is expanding farming by developing it as a pocket area to make it self-reliant in honey, oil and pulses.

The three-day beekeeping training is coming to an end today. Chairman Thapa said that there was a plan to distribute bee hives with bees after the completion of the training, but the bees and bees came before the training.
