Kathmandu. Canada’s new federal cabinet was sworn in on Tuesday at Ridau Hall in Ottawa.
Prime Minister Mark Carney began his speech by outlining two major priorities of his new government. Carney’s second but first new cabinet since his election includes a core group of 28 ministers and 10 secretaries of state.
Anita Anand replaces Melanie Jolie as Minister of External Affairs. Jolie has become the Minister of Industry.
François-Philippe Champagne remained finance minister and also held an additional role as revenue minister. Carney’s Liberal Party won canada’s parliamentary elections last month to form a minority government.
