Kathmandu. Nepal Insurance Authority (NEA) Chairman Sharad Ojha has urged the insurance companies to work to increase the credibility of insurance. He said this while addressing a prabhat pheri program organized on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of Nepal Insurance Authority in Kathmandu on Wednesday.

Stating that the shortcomings and weaknesses seen in the insurance sector should be removed, Chairman Ojha said that improvement is a regular process and the important priority at present is to increase the credibility of insurance. He said that the complaints regarding claim payment, life and non-life should be addressed.

Stating that the number of complaints in the Insurance Authority is increasing, he said that the question may arise whether it has failed to work properly in the insurance sector and there is a need to increase the credibility of the insurance sector.

“We are working to increase the credibility of insurance,” he said. We will continue to remove the shortcomings and weaknesses seen today. Improvement is a regular process. Our most important priority right now is to increase credibility. Whatever complaints we get about claim payment, life and non-life. We have to gradually reduce it. It has to be reduced to zero. The number of complaints with the Insurance Authority is increasing. It may raise the question of whether it has not worked properly in our credibility. There is a need to increase the credibility of the insurance sector. ’

Chairman Ojha said that the priority of one year insurance should be to improve service delivery and reliability.
