Kathmandu. Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CNI) President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal has urged the government to implement the report of the High-Level Economic Suggestions Reform Commission.

He said this while speaking at a programme organized in Kathmandu on Tuesday on the implementation of the Report of the Road Map of Economic Transformation: High Level Economic Suggestions Reform Commission.

He argued that the Finance Minister was working closely in the preparation of the upcoming budget and it was the responsibility of bringing the budget to provide dynamism to the existing challenging economy. He said that the High-Level Economic Suggestions Reform Commission has given suggestions for immediate and medium-term and long-term reforms.

Stating that some of the suggestions would be implemented from the upcoming budget itself, he said that the Commission had suggested that some cabinet decisions could be taken to implement them.

He said, “The honorable minister is working closely in the preparation of the upcoming budget. His overall focus is on the upcoming budget. He has the responsibility to bring a budget to provide dynamism to the current challenging economy. The Commission has also suggested immediate, medium-term and long-term reforms. Some of the suggestions will be implemented from the upcoming budget, while some are issues that can be implemented even after taking decisions by the council of ministers. Therefore, the recommendations of the Commission should be implemented. The private sector wants it to happen on time. ”

He argued that if the government did not implement the recommendations made by the Commission, there would be no justification for the commission to be formed in the coming days.
