Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Center) MP Ranendra Barali has objected to the arrest of Lumbini Province’s CPN (UML) MP Bishnu Prasad Panthi.
Speaking in the House of Representatives’ meeting on Tuesday, MP Barali objected to the arrest of MP Panthi, who was sitting at a public event with the Prime Minister, despite being arrested.
Provincial MP Panthi was attending the Buddha Jayanti celebration held in Lumbini on Monday as the chief guest.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli was also present at the event. MP Barali questioned, saying that the police did not arrest him even when he participated in a public program due to his political connections, what kind of model of good governance is this?
He said, “There is a government that has taken the contract of good governance, who is an MP of his own party for whom an arrest warrant has been issued. When the police administration goes, a report comes that there was no meeting. They sit on the stage with their hands tied to the Prime Minister. What kind of model of good governance is this? Another thing, the current situation is vacant for the world to see, breaking history. What should be done in this matter, what is happening, is clear to the world.”
MP Barali mentioned that the government has delayed even in the appointment of the governor, and the common citizen is watching.
