Kathmandu. Citizens Bank International has launched the first ‘Virtual Credit Card’ in Nepal’s banking sector. The bank has launched a virtual credit card for the first time in Nepal to make payments easy and secure for its customers.
Sameer Adhikari, Credit Card Head of Citizens Bank, said that the bank has launched this service with the aim of providing additional services to its customers, keeping in mind the common problems of losing, forgetting, stealing physical cards, and having to walk around looking for places that accept cards.
The head of the bank told SinghaDurbar.com, ‘Credit cards are used only in big supermarkets, big shops, and urban areas, but virtual credit cards can be easily used by customers anywhere and anytime through the mobile banking app.’
According to him, virtual credit There will be no interest for the first 45 days of using the card. He informed that the maximum limit of the virtual credit card is 20 thousand to 250 thousand rupees.
He said that since the virtual card will be used through Citizens Bank’s mobile banking, a Citizens Bank account is required. He informed that a request for the card can be made even by opening a new account.
‘We are developing a mechanism so that the application can be filled from home, without having to come to the bank to digitize the virtual credit card. “We are also providing an EMI feature to make repayments easier when making large transactions,” he said.
This service of Citizens Bank was launched on the bank’s 17th anniversary. The bank has stated that its popularity and customer demand are increasing as it completes a year of its launch.
