Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the fighting between India and Pakistan has stopped after he urged restraint and prayed that the situation not turn into a war. He said this while addressing a program organized in Lumbini on Monday on the occasion of the 2569th Buddha Jayanti and Lumbini Day-2082.
He said that although a situation of war had arisen between neighboring countries India and Pakistan just a few days ago, it had not been allowed to progress and he prayed that the war would not progress. He said that India and Pakistan have expressed their commitment not to let them go to war, thanking both countries for their restraint, but again, there is a situation of some accusations and counter-accusations between the two countries.
Prime Minister Oli said that the meaning of Buddha’s messages of peace is still there and everywhere, and said, ‘Just a few days ago, there was a little bit of hand-to-hand fighting between India and Pakistan in our neighborhood. But the hand-to-hand fighting did not escalate. Thank you for your restraint. We said from the beginning, let it not escalate. We wished that this hand-to-hand fighting situation did not escalate into a war. We also talked to them. Without saying anything, he expressed his commitment not to let them go to war. There is a situation of some accusations and counter-accusations again. That is, the meaning of Buddha’s messages of peace is still there, wherever it is, for the individual, for the peace of the individual’s own state of mind, for family peace, for everything, peace is important.’
He also emphasized that the teachings given by Buddha through his sermons are very important for the world.
