Siddhartha Gautama was born in 563 BC, or 2569 years ago, in the Lumbini Garden in Rupandehi district, to his father, King Suddhodhana, and mother, Mayadevi, on the full moon day of the month of Vaishakh.
Siddhartha Gautama, who was born as a prince, became concerned about the suffering of people. At the age of twenty-nine, he left the palace and went out for penance.
